Bio
Recruited from Kew, Wally Lathlain joined Hawthorn during the club's challenging formative years in the VFL. He made his debut in the opening round of the 1928 season but found it difficult to secure a permanent position in the senior lineup, serving as a fringe player for the struggling Mayblooms. Operating primarily in defence, Lathlain managed just 17 games across three seasons as the club consistently languished near the bottom of the ladder. He made his final appearance in 1930, leaving the VFL scene as one of many players who rotated through the Hawthorn squad during its early search for competitive stability.
