Stats
Bio
Recruited from VFA club Preston during the Second World War, Wally Miller was a diminutive rover and forward pocket who became a dangerous goal-kicker for Fitzroy. Standing just 165cm, he used his low centre of gravity and sharp goal sense to average nearly a major a game throughout his brief VFL career. Miller was a key contributor during the club's famous 1944 campaign, playing 14 matches and booting 18 goals to help propel the Maroons into the finals. Despite his regular presence in the senior side that year, he heartbreakingly missed selection for the Grand Final victory over Richmond. He played one final season at Brunswick Street in 1945 before his League career concluded.
