Bio
Recruited from Woodlands in the Essendon District League, Wally Milne arrived at Windy Hill in 1933 alongside his junior teammate and future triple Brownlow Medallist Dick Reynolds. While he did not share the superstardom of his contemporary, Milne established himself as a combative utility capable of playing as a follower or in defence. Known for being tough and fearless rather than skilled or quick, he often compensated for a distinct lack of pace with his physical commitment to the contest. He managed 22 senior appearances over three seasons as an honest role player before his VFL career concluded, after which he went on to serve in the Australian Army during World War II.
