Bio
A prolific country spearhead, Wally Nash arrived at Glenferrie Oval with a formidable reputation forged in regional Victoria. After debuting for Warragul as a 15-year-old and twice topping the Central Gippsland goalkicking charts, he continued his dominance at Euroa by leading the Waranga North East League's scoring list in consecutive seasons. The Hawks secured his signature in 1953, and the straight-shooting full-forward managed 18 goals in 17 games as he adjusted to the defensive pressure of VFL football. Unfortunately, Nash’s time in the top flight was abruptly ended by a serious knee injury in early 1955, forcing him into premature retirement and denying the club a potential long-term solution in the goal square.
