Bio
Recruited from VFA club Prahran, Wally Roach was a classic football journeyman who struggled to secure a permanent foothold at the elite level despite opportunities at three separate league clubs. A wingman and half-forward, he made a solitary appearance for South Melbourne in 1907 before spending the following season playing midweek football with St Kilda Wednesday. Roach returned to the VFL system for brief stints with Essendon and St Kilda, managing just ten appearances across two seasons, before eventually finding his level back in the Association where he turned out for North Melbourne, Brighton, and Hawthorn.
