Bio
Recruited from North Heidelberg, Warren Roper was a tall and versatile utility who spent seven seasons at Victoria Park, though he found it difficult to command a permanent spot in a strong Magpies lineup. Standing at 188cm, Roper was capable of holding his own in the ruck or playing as a marking forward, attributes that kept him on the senior list despite frequent spells in the reserves. His career highlight came during the 1966 season, where he played a career-high 16 games and was selected as the 19th man for the famous Grand Final loss to St Kilda. Ultimately unable to break out of the fringe player mould, he played his final VFL game in 1967 before departing the club.
