Bio
Wayde Twomey arrived at Carlton as a mature-age recruit via the 2011 Rookie Draft, selected after starring in Swan Districts' WAFL premiership campaign the previous year. A rebounding defender known for his penetrating left-foot kick and ability to read the play, he was recruited to provide immediate depth to the Blues' backline. Twomey earned an elevation to the senior list and played two consecutive games late in the 2011 season, including a debut against Collingwood and a goal-kicking appearance against Essendon. Despite his precise distribution, he could not retain his spot in the senior side and was delisted after a single season at Princes Park, eventually returning to the WAFL where he cemented his standing as a state-league star by winning the 2013 Sandover Medal with Subiaco.
