Bio
Recruited from West Preston, Wayne Eastman was a slight but persistent wingman who carved out a respectable career with Fitzroy during the 1960s. Standing just 173cm, he relied on his running capacity and ball use rather than physical dominance, becoming a regular fixture in the Lions' midfield across eight seasons. His most notable appearance came in the famous 1963 "Miracle Match," where he manned the wing in a young Fitzroy side that stunned the eventual premiers Geelong with a comprehensive upset victory. Eastman remained a loyal servant to the club through a difficult era, playing 73 games in the maroon and blue before finishing his VFL tenure at the end of the 1968 season.
