Bio
Recruited from Camperdown in the Hampden Football League, Wayne Linton joined Fitzroy as a teenager and established himself as a serviceable wingman during the mid-1970s. He was a running player capable of linking play between the arcs, making 65 senior appearances and kicking 17 goals over five seasons alongside club greats like Garry Wilson. Although he played regular senior football and often featured in the best players during the 1978 season, Linton opted to step away from the VFL at just 23 years of age. He subsequently moved into a long career in education and psychotherapy, eventually becoming a published author and leadership coach in his life after football.
