Stats
Bio
Recruited from Morwell in the Gippsland region, Wayne Peters was a highly rated prospect taken by Richmond with pick 14 in the 1987 National Draft. Standing at 193cm, he was a tall utility capable of playing key posts or on a flank, noted for having a touch of class and strong hands. Despite showing significant promise and performing well in the reserves—where he kicked 57 goals in 41 games—he struggled to translate that dominance to the senior level, managing just five appearances over three seasons at Punt Road. Hampered by form and injury issues, he was eventually cut by the Tigers and offered a lifeline by Fitzroy in 1991. However, he was unable to add to his senior tally with the Lions, playing only reserves football before returning to country Victoria to play for Yinnar and Bairnsdale.
