Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Wimmera town of Nhill, Wilf Dickeson was a versatile utility who primarily operated as a wingman or back pocket defender. He made an immediate impact upon arriving at Punt Road, showing enough poise and reliability to win Richmond's Best First Year Player award in 1965. Despite this promising debut season, he found it difficult to retain a permanent spot in the senior side the following year, eventually featuring in the Tigers' 1966 reserves premiership team. Dickeson left the VFL to pursue greater opportunities in the VFA with Prahran, where he became a premiership player in 1970, before embarking on a decades-long tenure as a respected captain-coach in country football for clubs including Ararat and Dimboola.
