Bio
Recruited from Tungamah in the Goulburn Valley, Wilfred Fell arrived at Collingwood in 1899 hoping to emulate the success of his older brother, Matthew Fell. Standing 182cm, a significant height for the era, he offered a physical presence similar to his sibling, who was establishing himself as a versatile key position utility at Victoria Park. Wilfred broke into the senior side for his debut in Round 4, but unlike Matthew—who would go on to become a dual premiership hero—Wilfred struggled to retain his place in the competitive Magpies lineup. His VFL career was ultimately restricted to a solitary season, managing just seven games without scoring a goal before departing the elite level.
