Bio
Recruited from Claremont in the WAFL with pick 56 in the 2024 National Draft, William Hayes arrived at Collingwood as a lightly framed but electrifying wing and small forward prospect. Renowned for his elite agility and endurance testing at the draft combine, the Western Australian earned his senior debut in 2025 against North Melbourne after displaying consistent form in the VFL. He played two matches in his rookie season, notably kicking his first career goal on the big stage against Melbourne during the annual Queen's Birthday clash. A smart user of the ball with dangerous running patterns, Hayes enters the 2026 season looking to build on his brief taste of senior football and cement a place in the Magpies' midfield rotation.
