Bio
Xavier Ladbrook is an athletic tall prospect who emerged as a premiership player with the Gippsland Power. Hailing from Nar Nar Goon, the 201cm utility proved his worth at both ends of the ground throughout his draft year. He represented Vic Country at the National Championships as a key forward and earned selection for the AFL Academy, shining in defence against Richmond's VFL side. Returning to the backline for the Power, he starred in their Talent League Grand Final victory as a premier interceptor.
Scouts note Ladbrook boasts rare physical gifts for his size, combining speed, reach and agility with strong football smarts. He offers a great stretch in marking contests, reads the play early, and is mobile enough to gather cleanly at ground level. Although he is lean and will need to add bulk to his frame, his closing speed and defensive efforts have drawn high praise. After recording a top-ten finish in the running vertical jump at the national draft combine, Ladbrook is highly regarded and considered a potential top-30 selection in the AFL Draft.
