Bio
Recruited from Parkside in the club's western suburbs heartland, Zeno Tzatzaris was a local teenage talent who represented the Bulldogs' strong connection to Melbourne's Greek community. He broke into the senior side as an 18-year-old in 1984, but his tenure at the top level was defined and ultimately curtailed by chronic knee injuries that restricted him to a stop-start career before forcing his premature retirement at age 25. A rugged and uncompromising full-back, Tzatzaris was a "stay-at-home" defender in the truest sense, renowned for his spoiling ability, physical strength in the contest, and a disciplined reluctance to ever drift forward of the centre square. While his games tally was limited, his standing at the club endures as a cult figure of the 1980s and a member of the Greek Team of the Century.
