Bio
The son of former Eagle and Cat Robbie West, Connor West took the long road to the AFL after being overlooked as a father-son prospect in his original draft year. He established himself as a relentless ball-winner for West Perth in the WAFL before West Coast finally offered him a lifeline with the 23rd pick in the 2021 Mid-Season Rookie Draft. A high-pressure inside midfielder known for his work rate and willingness to burrow into contests, West provided immediate grunt to an Eagles engine room often depleted by injury during a tumultuous period for the club. Despite his honest effort and ability to find the football, he struggled to secure a permanent place in the midfield rotation as the club embarked on a significant list regeneration, ultimately resulting in his delisting at the conclusion of the 2023 season.
