Bio
Recruited as a Category B rookie via Geelong’s Next Generation Academy due to his South African heritage, Ted Clohesy arrived at Kardinia Park as a combative prospect from the Geelong Falcons. The younger brother of Gold Coast defender Sam Clohesy, he built his game on elite tackling pressure and contested work, traits that saw him dominate at VFL level where he finished runner-up in the club’s 2024 best-and-fairest count. A high-intensity forward-midfielder who thrived on physical contests, Clohesy managed to break into the senior side for sporadic opportunities, often utilised for his defensive application in the forward half. Despite his consistent state league form, he was unable to cement a permanent place in the Cats' senior lineup and was delisted at the end of 2025, subsequently signing with Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL.
