Bio
George Gale is a tall and powerful midfielder who has surged into first-round calculations following an outstanding draft year. The Claremont prospect began his pathway at Swanbourne Junior Football Club and added significant size to his frame after a broken foot in his under-16s season. Following a WAFL colts premiership in 2025 and an Alcock Cup victory with Scotch College, Gale co-captained Western Australia at the 2026 National Championships, earning Under-18 All-Australian honours. His dominant form earned a WAFL league debut in round 19, allowing him to feature throughout Claremont's senior finals campaign.
Gale is available to all clubs in the open draft, as his father Mark fell short of the 100-game father-son threshold during his 84-game career with Fremantle and St Kilda. At 190cm, Gale plays both on the inside and outside, using his running power, clean hands at ground level, and composed decision making to link up play. Scouts rate his overhead marking, versatility and tidy disposal as clear strengths.
