Bio
Selected by Fremantle with the fifth pick in the 2017 National Draft, Adam Cerra arrived at the elite level via the Eastern Ranges with a reputation for poise and elite decision-making. He established himself quickly in the Dockers' lineup, initially rotating through half-back and the wing before securing a permanent spot in the midfield engine room. Despite becoming a vital component of Fremantle's emerging core, Cerra requested a trade back to Victoria following the 2021 season for family reasons, leading to a high-profile move to Carlton that cost the Blues pick six.
Known for his silky skills and ability to use the ball efficiently on both sides of his body, Cerra operates as a balanced midfielder who complements the inside brute force of his teammates. While capable of winning his own clearances, his greatest asset is his composure in heavy traffic and his precise delivery inside 50. Since arriving at Princes Park, he has become an integral part of the midfield rotation alongside Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh, though soft-tissue setbacks have occasionally hampered his continuity. When fit, he remains a class act who provides essential polish and two-way running to the Carlton lineup.
