Bio
The son of North Melbourne veteran "Curly" Linton, Alby Linton jnr was recruited from Spotswood and established himself as a dangerous rover with a sharp eye for goal. A crafty small man capable of hitting the scoreboard heavily from the midfield, he played a vital role for Footscray in the post-war era, notably tying as the club's leading goalkicker in 1951. After 53 games for the Bulldogs, he crossed to Williamstown in the VFA in 1953, where his career reached new heights. He became a dominant figure in the association, winning three premierships and the 1955 league goalkicking award with 84 goals, a performance that later secured him a place in the Seagulls' Team of the Century.
