Bio
The son of dual premiership Eagle Chris Waterman, Alec Waterman initially joined West Coast as a father-son selection in the 2014 national draft, but his first stint in the AFL was derailed by a severe battle with glandular fever and fatigue that forced his exit without a senior debut. After spending several years recovering his health and dominating the WAFL with Claremont, he earned a lifeline at Essendon via the pre-season supplemental selection period in 2021. A crafty medium forward known for his penetrating left-foot kick and strong body in contests, Waterman seized his second opportunity by booting crucial goals and playing a key role in the Bombers' forward line during his debut season. Despite this promising return, he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the senior side the following year and was delisted at the end of 2022, eventually returning to state league football in Western Australia.
