Bio
Angus Hoyne is a developing key defender who came through the Coates Talent League with the Bendigo Pioneers. Hailing from Broadford in the Bendigo Football Netball League, the 194cm prospect has also demonstrated his versatility as a tall utility during his junior pathway journey. He put together a reliable bottom-age campaign in 2025, featuring in the most matches of any Pioneers bottom-ager that year. Returning for his 2026 draft season, Hoyne made a handful of appearances for Bendigo. Operating predominantly in the defensive half but capable of pushing forward to hit the scoreboard, he consistently found the football and preferred to distribute by hand rather than by foot. He also provided a steady aerial presence and applied solid tackling pressure across his outings. Although he has flown under the radar in broader draft coverage and there is little public consensus on his eventual draft standing, Hoyne's size and exposure to representative under-18 country football offer a foundation for recruiters evaluating his potential to step up to the top level.
