Bio
Arthur Davidson was a prolific small forward who arrived at Hawthorn as a mature-age recruit with a decorated resume in both country and VFA football. Originally hailing from Sale, where he won the Gippsland League’s Trood Award, he moved to the city to join his brother Hec at Camberwell, eventually crowning his tenure there with a club Best and Fairest in 1938. Standing just 173cm and weighing 61kg, Davidson was a slight but deadly accurate rover and forward pocket who transitioned seamlessly to VFL level in 1939. Although his senior career was brief, lasting just seven games, he displayed elite goal sense by booting 19 majors—averaging nearly three goals an outing—to leave a mark as a potent, if fleeting, part of the Hawks' attack.
