Bio
Recruited from VFA club Coburg, Aubrey Martyn arrived at Princes Park in 1929, joining his older brother Colin Martyn in the navy blue. A reliable defender who typically manned a half-back flank or back pocket, Martyn was known for his disciplined, stay-at-home style rather than attacking flair, failing to register a single goal across his five-season tenure. While he enjoyed a promising start to his VFL career, he often battled to cement a permanent spot in the senior side during the club's competitive campaigns of the early 1930s, eventually finding himself on the fringe of selection. He was cleared back to Coburg in 1934, concluding his time at the top level as a hard-working backman who served the club dutifully alongside his sibling.
