Bio
Recruited from South Bendigo, Barry Mulcair was a rugged half-back flanker whose short VFL career is immortalised by his role in one of the game's most famous matches. He broke into the Carlton lineup in 1970 and retained his spot for the Grand Final, collecting a premiership medallion in the Blues' legendary comeback victory over Collingwood during his debut season. However, his time at the top level was fleeting; after managing just three games in 1971, he attempted a move to North Melbourne which resulted in a bitter clearance dispute. The standoff ultimately ended his VFL tenure after just 20 matches, though he remains a permanent part of Carlton history as a member of the 1970 premiership side.
