Family

Remembered largely as the grandfather of AFL games record holder Brent Harvey, Bill Harvey was a talented key position prospect who found regular senior opportunities elusive at VFL level. Standing 185cm, he managed just two appearances for North Melbourne in 1948, spending most of his tenure in the reserves before transferring to the Diamond Valley Football League. It was with Heidelberg that he showcased his true potential as a dominant full-forward, booting a league-leading 102 goals during the 1950 season. He later moved to the VFA with Preston and attempted a return to the VFL with Fitzroy's seconds, but tragically passed away at the age of 30, leaving a footballing lineage that would eventually reshape North Melbourne history.
