Bio
The younger brother of North Melbourne legend Brent Harvey, Shane Harvey entered the AFL with high expectations after being selected by Essendon with pick 18 in the 2001 National Draft. A naturally talented small forward with innate goal sense and silky skills, he showed flashes of brilliance during his two seasons at Windy Hill but struggled to consistently meet the rigorous fitness and defensive standards required at the elite level. After being delisted by the Bombers, he was thrown a lifeline by the Kangaroos via the pre-season draft, granting him the opportunity to play alongside his older sibling. However, the romanticism of the reunion did not translate to long-term success, and Harvey managed just three senior appearances for North Melbourne before departing the AFL system to become a prolific goal-kicker in local football.
