Bio
Born on Christmas Day into Western suburbs royalty, Bob Collins was a member of the famous Collins dynasty that became synonymous with the Footscray Football Club. He was the younger brother of club legend and future Hall of Fame goalkicker Jack Collins, as well as the brother of Alan and Jeff, who also played at the top level. A solid 183cm utility, Collins broke into the senior side during the club's golden era under Charlie Sutton, managing six games during the historic 1954 season. However, he struggled to cement a permanent spot in a lineup stacked with icons like Ted Whitten and his own brother Jack, ultimately missing out on selection for the drought-breaking Grand Final victory. He played his final game in 1956, remembered as a capable contributor from a family that helped shape the Bulldogs' identity.
