Bio
Standing at just 166cm, Brad Gotch was a tenacious rover and goal-sneak who overcame the "too small" tag to carve out a respectable VFL/AFL career. A Morrish Medalist in the under-19s, he showed glimpses of talent at Fitzroy but struggled to hold a regular senior spot and was eventually delisted midway through the 1985 season. He reinvigorated his prospects with a blistering stint in the SANFL with Port Adelaide, prompting St Kilda to extend him a lifeline for the 1986 season. Gotch played his best football at Moorabbin as a dangerous crumbing forward with a lethal left-foot pass, famously booting seven goals against his old side in 1987 before transitioning into a long and successful career as a development coach.
