Family

Arriving at Fremantle with the weight of a famous surname, Brett Peake was drafted as a father-son selection in 2003, following in the footsteps of WA football legend Brian Peake. He quickly established himself as a distinct outside runner, utilising blistering pace to break lines and carry the ball along the wing. While his disposal efficiency occasionally drew criticism, his ability to find space and drive the ball inside 50 made him a key asset during the Dockers' surge to the 2006 preliminary final. After falling out of favour under Mark Harvey, Peake requested a trade to St Kilda at the end of 2009, seeking a fresh start and greater job security.

The move to Moorabbin revitalised his career under Ross Lyon, where his running power complemented the Saints' high-pressure game plan. Peake became a fixture in the senior side immediately, playing in both the drawn Grand Final and the replay against Collingwood in 2010. He offered valuable run-and-carry during the Saints' premiership window, but as the club began to slide from contention and look toward youth, his opportunities diminished. He was delisted at the conclusion of the 2012 season, finishing his career as a serviceable link player who featured on the game's biggest stage.
