Bio
Arriving at Geelong in 1981 as one of the most heralded recruits in VFL history, Brian Peake had already established himself as a genuine superstar in the WAFL with East Fremantle. A Sandover Medallist and premiership captain in the West, his move to Victoria was surrounded by immense fanfare, famously punctuated by his arrival at Kardinia Park in a helicopter. A versatile and highly skilled utility capable of playing as a key forward or in the midfield, Peake possessed strong overhead marking ability and a penetrating kick. While he was a consistent contributor for the Cats over four seasons, including during their finals campaigns, he arguably never quite dominated the Victorian competition to the same extent he did in his home state. He eventually returned to East Fremantle to conclude a decorated career that spanned over 400 senior games across both leagues.
