Bio
Recruited locally from Collingwood Technical School, Brian Beers established himself as a dangerous rover and forward pocket capable of hitting the scoreboard heavily in his debut season. His inaugural year proved to be the pinnacle of his time at Victoria Park, as he played a vital role in the Magpies' 1958 Premiership triumph, kicking two goals to help deny Melbourne a fourth consecutive flag. Known for his speed and sharp goal sense, Beers remained a consistent contributor for four years but eventually crossed to Fitzroy in 1962 seeking greater regular opportunities. He spent his final three VFL seasons with the Lions, providing experience to their midfield and forward rotation before retiring at the end of 1964.
