Bio
Arriving at Victoria Park as a father-son recruit, Mark Beers carried the legacy of his father, 1958 premiership player Brian Beers. A utility capable of playing on the wing or across half-forward, he made his debut in 1984 and offered the Magpies depth during the mid-1980s. While he was a serviceable contributor who could find the goals, he struggled to establish himself as a core component of the squad and finished his VFL career after the 1987 season. Beers later re-established his standing at the club in a non-playing capacity, becoming a familiar figure as the team's long-serving runner during the Mick Malthouse era.
