Bio
Recruited from Avenel in the Goulburn Valley, Brian Morrison was a centreman whose VFL career was brief but memorable for the unique legacy he established after leaving the game. He managed just six senior appearances for Richmond during the 1960 season before returning to country Victoria, where he swapped his football boots for a handpiece and became a legendary figure in the shearing sheds. Morrison won two Australian open shearing titles and set a famous national record in 1972 by shearing 410 sheep in a single day, a feat that eventually earned him induction into the Australian Shearers Hall of Fame. While his stint at Punt Road was short-lived, his family's connection to the elite level continued decades later through his grandson, Hawthorn midfielder Harry Morrison.
