Bio
Born in Papua New Guinea and raised in Burrum Heads, Bruce Reville carved out one of football’s most unique pathways, working in an abattoir and driving forklifts while grinding away in the VFL before finally earning his shot. Selected as a Category B Rookie by the Brisbane Lions, the mature-age recruit bypassed traditional draft routes to debut in 2024, instantly becoming a Gabba cult hero synonymous with the crowd’s low droning chant of his first name. A hard-running utility primarily deployed as a high-pressure half-forward, Reville is renowned for his defensive intent, tackling pressure, and clean disposal inside 50. While fighting for a permanent spot in a star-studded premiership-contending lineup, he has managed 25 games across his first few seasons, establishing himself as a resilient role player who adds necessary grit to the Lions' squad.
