Bio
Drafted by the Western Bulldogs with pick 46 in the 2014 National Draft, Caleb Daniel defied concerns about his 168cm stature to become a premiership player and one of the league's most effective ball users. Originally a South Adelaide junior, he became a cult hero at Whitten Oval, celebrated for his trademark helmet and elite field kicking. Daniel was instrumental in the Bulldogs' 2016 premiership triumph as a creative half-forward before reinventing himself as a quarterback-style defender. His influence peaked in 2020 when he won the Charles Sutton Medal and earned All-Australian selection, lauded for his ability to set up play from the back half with surgical precision.
Following a difficult 2024 campaign where he struggled for regular selection in Luke Beveridge's side, Daniel requested a trade to North Melbourne to extend his career. He joined the Kangaroos ahead of the 2025 season, providing veteran leadership and composure to a developing squad. The move revitalised his football, allowing him to surpass the 200-game milestone and continue demonstrating the high-level football IQ that defined his decade-long tenure at the Bulldogs.
