Bio
Selected by Fremantle with pick eight in the 2019 National Draft, Caleb Serong arrived from the Gippsland Power with a reputation for fierce competitiveness. He wasted little time adapting to the elite level, winning the Rising Star award in his debut seasonโa rare feat for a first-year inside midfielderโand quickly dispelling any concerns regarding his stature. A clearance specialist with exceptional hands in traffic, Serong built his game on winning the hard ball and releasing teammates into space, forming the long-term nucleus of the Dockers' midfield alongside Andrew Brayshaw.
His consistency saw him elevate into the competition's upper echelon, culminating in a breakout 2023 campaign where he secured his first All-Australian jacket and the Doig Medal as Fremantle's club champion. As he moved into the prime of his career, Serong became an integral leader at the club, recognised not just for his statistical accumulation but for his ability to stand up in big moments and drive standards within the playing group. Now well past the 100-game milestone, he remains the heartbeat of the Fremantle engine room and one of the league's most industrious contested ball winners.
