Recruited by Adelaide via the rookie draft as a raw prospect with a background in rugby and baseball, Charlie Cameron quickly established himself as a dynamic talent known for his blistering speed and defensive pressure. After featuring in the Crows' 2017 Grand Final side, he requested a trade to the Brisbane Lions to return to Queensland for family reasons, a move that proved pivotal for the rebuilding club.

At the Gabba, Cameron elevated his standing to become the premier small forward of the competition for several seasons, earning multiple All-Australian blazers and regularly topping the club's goalkicking.
