Stats
Bio
A local product recruited from South Melbourne YCW, Clarrie Lane was a diminutive rover and forward pocket who featured for the Bloods during the mid-1950s. Standing just 171cm, he showed immediate promise in his debut 1954 season, booting 12 goals in just eight games to provide a spark for the struggling side. Despite this encouraging start, Lane found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup, drifting in and out of the side over the next three seasons as the club consistently languished in the bottom half of the ladder. He eventually departed the VFL scene at the end of 1957, leaving behind a brief but efficient cameo as a goal-kicking small.
