Bio
Selected with pick 61 in the 2018 National Draft, Connor Idun arrived at Greater Western Sydney via the Geelong Falcons. Born in London to a Ghanaian father and Australian mother, he moved to Australia as a child and developed a reputation as a versatile athletic prospect. After managing just three games across his first two seasons, Idun seized his opportunity in 2021, cementing a spot in the Giants' backline and playing every game during a breakout campaign that showcased his rapid development.
He established himself as a highly reliable medium defender capable of punching above his weight division. Renowned for his discipline and competitiveness, Idun possesses the speed to match small forwards and the strength to engage taller opponents, making him a critical flexible piece in the Giants' defensive structure. His ability to shut down dangerous forwards while providing composed rebound saw his standing within the club rise rapidly, culminating in his elevation to the leadership group. By the mid-2020s, Idun had become a cornerstone of the GWS defence, offering stability and leadership as the club pushed for premiership contention.
