Bio
Recruited from Peel Thunder, Darren Bolton holds the distinction of being the first player ever drafted from the Mandurah-based WAFL club into the AFL system. Selected by Fremantle with pick 54 in the 1998 National Draft, the small midfielder was immediately thrust into senior football, making his debut in Round 1 of the 1999 season against Adelaide. However, he struggled to adjust to the pace of the elite level, gathering limited possessions across two consecutive appearances before being omitted from Damian Drum's side. Unable to force his way back into the lineup, Bolton was delisted at the conclusion of his solitary season on the list.
