Bio
A South Australian rover recruited from Woodville, Darryl Hewitt is the brother of fellow footballer Glynn Hewitt and the uncle of tennis champion Lleyton. He joined St Kilda in 1981, showing promise as a busy small forward and midfielder who booted 20 goals in his 26 senior appearances. After two seasons at Moorabbin, he crossed to Richmond in 1983 but was unable to break into the Tigers' senior side, spending the year in the reserves before returning to his home state. Hewitt went on to become a stalwart of the SANFL, playing over 100 games for South Adelaide and earning player life membership with the league for his service across three clubs.
