Bio
Recruited from West Adelaide as the son of SANFL stalwart Max Hewitt, Glynn Hewitt arrived at Richmond in 1973 as a skilled half-forward with a sharp eye for goal. He joined the Tigers during the peak of the Tom Hafey era, where the depth of talent in a back-to-back premiership squad made regular senior selection difficult to earn. Hewitt managed 15 games over two seasons and featured in the club's 1973 Reserves premiership victory before returning to South Australia to seek greater opportunity. He went on to forge a distinguished career in the SANFL, most notably as a prolific goalkicker for Woodville where he topped the league goalkicking in 1979, though he is perhaps best known to modern sporting fans as the father of tennis world number one Lleyton Hewitt.
