Bio
Recruited to the Western Bulldogs under the father-son rule, David Round arrived at the club carrying a significant pedigree as the son of former Footscray ruckman and 1981 Brownlow Medallist Barry Round. Developed as a key position prospect capable of playing at either end of the ground, he faced the difficult task of breaking into a formidable Bulldogs lineup that was surging toward the finals under coach Terry Wallace. He was granted a brief opportunity late in the 1997 season, making his debut in Round 21 against Brisbane and holding his spot for a victory over Fremantle the following week. However, with the team boasting established talls such as Chris Grant and Luke Darcy, Round was squeezed out of the side prior to the finals campaign and was delisted without adding to his two senior appearances.
