Bio
Recruited from the Sandringham Dragons with pick 54 in the 2014 National Draft, Ed Langdon is the younger brother of former Collingwood defender Tom Langdon. Initially drafted by Fremantle, he spent his early seasons developing his craft before establishing himself as one of the hardest-running wingmen in the competition. After finishing top-five in the Doig Medal in consecutive years, Langdon requested a trade home to Victoria at the end of 2019, joining Melbourne in a deal that sent draft picks back to the Dockers.
Upon arriving at the Demons, Langdon immediately addressed the club's historical need for outside run and discipline. Renowned for his elite aerobic capacity and ability to maintain width on the ground, his two-way running became a structural pillar of Melbourne's game plan under Simon Goodwin. This tireless work rate was instrumental in the club's 2021 premiership campaign, where he played every game and kicked a goal in the Grand Final victory over the Western Bulldogs. Now a veteran with over 200 games to his name, Langdon remains a durable and vital fixture on the wing as he plays out a long-term contract.
