Bio
Born in West Ham, London, and migrating to Australia as a child, Eddie Rosenbrock was a defensive recruit who joined South Melbourne from the Ferntree Gully Football Club following their 1928 premiership campaign. Stationed primarily in the back pocket, he found senior opportunities scarce at the Lakeside Oval, managing just four appearances across the 1929 and 1930 seasons as the club sat in the middle of the ladder. Unable to secure a permanent place in the lineup, he transferred to the VFA with Brighton in 1930, where he enjoyed a more sustained tenure before eventually settling in the Mornington Peninsula. Rosenbrock spent his later playing years alternating between Frankston and Brighton, laying the groundwork for a family footballing legacy in the region that would later produce Collingwood fullback Peter Rosenbrock.
