Recruited from Frankston, Peter Rosenbrock was a sturdy full-back who established himself as a fixture in the Collingwood defence immediately upon his debut in 1960. After breaking into the senior side in Round 6, he played every remaining game of his rookie season, including the Magpies' Grand Final loss to Melbourne in treacherous wet conditions. Rosenbrock remained a first-choice key defender for the next two years, but his promising career was cut short when he sustained a broken leg early in the 1963 season, an injury that ultimately forced his retirement from VFL football.
