Bio
Elijah Dennis is a resolute key defender who has emerged as a reliable interceptor through the West Australian pathway. The younger brother of 2024 Under-18 All-Australian Clancy Dennis, he cut his teeth at Claremont Junior Football Club before establishing himself in Claremont's vaunted WAFL Colts program. He enjoyed an excellent bottom-age campaign, playing an integral role in the Tigers' 2025 premiership success. Dennis carried that strong form into his draft year, earning selection for Western Australia at the 2026 National Championships following dominant club performances where he regularly commanded the airways.
On the field, Dennis is a calming influence across the defensive half who thrives when locking down opponents and impacting aerial contests. Scouts highlight his excellent playreading ability, which allows him to anticipate the ball in flight, take courageous intercept marks and mop up ground-level spills. He is not afraid to go back with the flight of the ball and uses his mobility to position himself effectively. Once in possession, he is composed under pressure and reliable by foot, helping his side absorb opposition attacks before launching counterattacks from the backline.
