Bio
Ethan Turner is a speedy small defender who developed his football at the Mt Lawley Inglewood Junior Football Club before joining East Perth in the WAFL Colts. Earning a spot in Western Australia's squad for the 2026 AFL National Championships, Turner pushed his case with breakout performances in state trial matches. He thrived in a half-back role during these representative fixtures, starring in clashes against WAFL reserves and under-20 opposition. At club level, Turner was a key figure for the Royals, putting together standout performances where he found plenty of the football and pushed forward to kick goals.
Operating at high speed, Turner is known for his energy and drive from the defensive half. He uses his pace to peel off opponents, intercept the ball and instigate rapid transitional play. While scouts note his intense run can occasionally border on the erratic, his sheer aggression and willingness to take the game on consistently help move the ball into advanced areas. Turner plays a fearless style and is never afraid to tackle bigger opponents. Although not widely touted as an early selection, his strong form and ability to push into the midfield have placed him in the draft mix.
