Bio
Plucked from relative obscurity in the Victorian amateur leagues, Francis Evans was a surprise selection by Geelong in the 2019 National Draft after playing just two games for the Calder Cannons. The clever small forward struggled to crack a formidable Cats lineup featuring established stars, leading to his delisting after three seasons on the fringe. Evans found a second home at Port Adelaide as a delisted free agent, where he produced glimpses of his goal sense and defensive pressure across two years, including an appearance in the 2023 finals series. Despite managing regular senior opportunities, he was cut by the Power at the end of 2024 and subsequently handed a lifeline by Carlton, where he joins his third club fighting to cement a permanent role as a crumbing forward.
